Kabutar-akh Red-Orange Striped Khes
This is a pure cotton khes in the Kabutar-akh series. The name is inspired by the bird’s eye weave. The weft is hand-spun cotton. This gives the khes a softer texture. Each khes takes 5-6 days to weave since the women weave in their free time, between household chores. The khes has a seam running through the middle. This is because the pit-loom can only weave a fabric of 27". This joinery is expertly embroidered and lends a charm to the finished piece.
