BALWAAR
Reviving Craft and Empowering Women in Punjab
In Punjab, women used to weave in their free time for the trousseaus of their daughters.
While this tradition is dying out in modern times, the skills remain. Ours is an attempt to preserve this talent and provide these women an opportunity to earn some income - not be totally dependent on agriculture or the benevolence of their husbands.

We collect and collate traditional designs and use the best quality yarn and materials to create durries, manjees, khes and embroidered napkins, tea cosies and cushions. Each piece is individually handcrafted by women who work from home in their free hours.
By buying the product you are contributing to the financial independence of a woman and inspiring them to keep alive a beautiful craft.
